    **About the Team:** Our Supply Chain and Logistics team mission is to provide top notch service to our stores and purchasing teams- contributing to the goal to make Grocery Outlet the first choice for bargain minded customers while touching lives for the better. Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.

    **About the Role:** As the Assistant Transportation Manager you will support the Outbound Transportation Manager on various tasks and projects relating to the operation of Grocery Outlets private fleet. You will review current process and procedures and suggest improvements to increase efficiency. You will contribute to the overall success of the distribution team by advancing the use of new technologies and functionalities as appropriate. Along with the Transportation Manager you will be responsible for communicating the company policies, procedures, safety requirements and various announcements to GOI drivers, to ensure drivers are current and compliant with GOI and DOT regulations. The Assistant Transportation Manager will report to the Transportation Manager.

    **Responsibilities Include:**

    Effectively lead drivers in a safe work environment and provide excellent customer service upstream and downstream,

    Routing, Dispatching, scheduling, and tracking loads with common carriers and Grocery Outlets fleet,

    Working as a liaison between IOs (Independent Owner Operators) stores and the warehouse operations teams,

    Providing updates on load availability, ETAs, driver and/or equipment issues, etc,

    Manage and schedule the cross-dock shuttles of inventory and general merchandise between distribution centers

    Manage and schedule backhaul appointments between warehouse, vendor, and purchasing

    Coordinate Final Mile delivery arrangement with stores

    Assisting stores with order management, on-time order placement, and order exceptions

    Maintain store order master delivery schedule

    Retrieve historical data to monitor past performance and model solutions

    Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators

    Accountable to financial ramifications of operational decisions

    Maintaining DOT driver profile records and fleet preventive maintenance coordination

    Miscellaneous administrative tasks and projects

    Conduct periodic surveys of stores for feedback on transportation and warehouse service opportunities

    Utilize knowledge of store operations and GOI to suggest improvements for transportation that are: cost neutral, provide service enhancements, and provide cost reductions.

    **About You:**

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

    Strong team player and individual contributor that thrives in a fast-paced environment

    **Flexibility to potentially work a compressed schedule, which may rotate**

    + **Sun-Wed (~7:30am-5:30pm) or Wed-Sat (~7:30am-5:30pm), and rotate (team votes on duration and interval) Mon-Fri (~9:00am-6:00pm)**

    3+ years experience in driver management and dispatch

    Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations (written and oral)

    Knowledge of warehouse operations

    Experience with multiple or different TMS platforms is ideal

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, WMS

    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    Current, valid CDL a plus.
