    Job DescriptionJob Title:

    Business Development Manager, Nucleic Acid TherapeuticsLocation: West Coast North America / CaliforniaHow will you make an impact?This role will directly impact our mission of making the world healthier by providing Life Science Solutions group technologies to nucleic acid therapeutic customers on a clinical and commercial supply basis for the development & manufacturing of customer's life-changing therapiesWhat will you do? Develop and execute on the nucleic acid therapeutic strategy that aligns to the divisional strategy.

    Identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities to sell the company's products and capabilities to therapeutic customers to facilitate our customer's cGMP-manufacturing goals.

    Initiate and develop productive customer relationships in multiple functions (e.g R&D, MS&T, production, procurement, quality, regulatory affairs) and at multiple levels (scientist, project manager, manager and executive levels) to ensure comprehensive customer engagement.

    Actively participate in, and may lead, cross-functional teams to support customer opportunities that include adept coordination of legal, manufacturing, marketing, R&D, etc.

    Collaborate with business unit partners to develop business/partnership frameworks for large, complex, often multi-year mutually beneficial partnerships with customers.

    Make highly informed judgments of value to the customer upon which to develop financial terms for often customized products, based on therapeutic potential.

    Negotiate and close business terms and conditions.

    Understand and act in accordance to applicable licenses and intellectual property, as well as monitor and handle contracts and relationships with customers.

    Understand customer needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems. Investigates product issues and ensures satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.

    Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including: lead and contract development, negotiation, sales funnel management, sales to therapeutic companies and consultative sellingKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesUnderstanding of the nucleic acid therapeutic and pharmaceutical markets Navigating complex accounts with multiple internal and external partnersStrong understanding of therapeutic development and commercial manufacturing workflowsAbility to work well in a team and matrix atmosphereDemonstrates proficiency with computer applications, including CRMs, word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentations required At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 100,000 outstanding minds has a unique story to tell.

    Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $136,000.00–$180,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
