What we offer:
OAWF Financial Counselor/Collector Job Responsibilities
The financial counselor/collector is responsible for providing patients with surgical/procedure estimates, collecting all presurgical and preprocedural monies due, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Must be detailed oriented with knowledge of insurances and benefits.
- Communicates with patients over the telephone in a professional and customer service
oriented manner
- Communicate effectively with staff and physicians by phone or in writing
- Obtain booking slips from surgical coordinators
- Enter surgical booking slips onto spreadsheet
- Review all procedure schedules daily working 2 days out for upcoming procedures
- Email team surgical coordinator and request any missing books slips for patients on the
schedule where no booking slip was received
- Review insurance benefits/fee schedules to ensure patients are given a proper estimate
for upcoming procedures
- Contact patients with their estimate for their procedure via telephone and review their
benefits and their payment deadline
- Send a surgical estimate sheet to patient mailing address
