OVERVIEW:

Quality Custom Distribution's shared accounting and finance department, based in our Frisco TX HQ offices, is hiring an Intern for the Accounting and Finance Department.

This position is part-time and is not expected to exceed 20 hours per week.

This position will enable the person to learn all aspects of QCD's business through the various duties with the accounting and finance department to assist with all facets of Accounting , from AP/AR to GL reconcilation.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

As an Accounting Intern, will work on various projects, including:

Work cross-functionally within the accounting group

Learn about the full cycle accounting

Perform pricing research/audit for pricing discrepancies

Assist with research and reconciliation in AP/AR and in collaboration with staff accountants

Gain exposure to various aspects of the financials and how different processes affect those financials

Attend department meetings and action plan based on feedback

Learn to collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization

Create a presentation on your internship experience, projects, and outcomes and present to department leadership


Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

Current enrollment within an accredited college or university towards a field in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other Business related programs.

Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert

Filing and record-keeping procedures and systems (B)

General office procedures (B)

Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook (J)

Basic office equipment and machinery (B)

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (B)

Be self-motivated (B)
