Position Summary
The Utility Manager role leads program coordination of deployment phases of IONNA's projects requiring utility interconnection.
The Utility Manager will have relevant experience working on utility engagements, utility interconnections and upgrades, with the intent to achieve project timelines and budgets.
They demonstrate a bias to action, logical problem solving, and an ability to negotiate.Responsibilities
Actively manage the utility relationship for distribution, transmission, and substation upgrades needed to build charger projects
Oversee all phases of design, entitlement, and construction of charging sites where utility interconnection is required
Facilitate field site visits for due diligence on construction, engineering, utility, and cost. Provide site reports and sketches as needed
Partner with utilities to determine best routing of primary electrical service and coordinate site power installations during design and construction phases
Responsible for tracking and managing utility timelines, advocating for improvements.
Lead IONNA program review meetings with executives from major utilities
Meet with zoning/permitting personnel to understand jurisdictional approval requirements for utility improvements and opportunities for timeline reduction
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience working on transmission and/or substation level projects. Utility experience is valuable
Detailed understanding of the current public fast charging landscape
Ability to manage and deliver multiple simultaneous projects ahead of schedule while adhering to the highest design and quality standards
Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Advanced knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting processes
Working knowledge of power integration and utility design processes
Skilled in reading, understanding and redlining zoning and construction drawings, including utility designs and power distribution details
Accountable to cost implications of utility construction design options and able to make cost-efficiency recommendations

Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
