- Recommends and, in conjunction with EA, develop short and long-term IT strategy and plans for systems implementation and integration. Manages operations along with the capital/operating budgets and staffing to accomplish business objectives.
- Responsible for overseeing infrastructure: responding to application and infrastructure downtime alerts, performing environment and OS changes, and interacting with business, customers, etc.
- Directly and indirectly, oversee employees in the IT department. Contributions will include interviewing, hiring, and career development of employees; planning, assigning and directing work.
- Administers the departments budget, within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operations of the company.
- Centrally manages all hardware and software license agreements, communication agreements and IT related vendor contracts. Maintain effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers; leverages these relationships to ensure that the best fit solutions and resources available to Jefferson.
- Defines and communicates project/day to day milestones, service level agreements (SLAs), and resource allocation to executives, management and key stakeholders.
- Responsible for oversight and execution of the Endpoint (VDI) and VM & Server Engineering functions ensuring that Endpoint (VDI) and VM Server infrastructure is stable and resilient.
- Engineer endpoint and server implementations that support business initiatives. g. Epic Expansion, transition to cloud services.
- Run technology proof of concepts in order to select the best product or suite for the function that will be integrated into steady-state operations for the organization.
- Provide Operation Support on & off hours; including but not limited to build and/or upgrade support.
- Create design documentation including as built documents, design summaries, migration plans, and Visio diagrams as appropriate. Documents internal process, end user documentation and builds knowledge base for the IS&T organization as it relates to technical details, project details, and root cause analysis.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Server Engineering leads the OS/Platform Engineering and the VDI/End Point Management Teams.
They will lead a team including two managers and a total staff of 32 with responsibility for over 5,500 servers.
The position plans to achieve business goals by fostering collaboration, innovation and prioritization of IT initiatives.The position coordinates with Enterprise architecture (EA) on strategy and the evaluation, deployment & management of current and future IT systems across the organization in support of business goals related to the organizations architecture, telecommunications, networks, and virtualized end user environments.
The position is responsible for large-scale initiatives including direct improvements and enhancements on the Infrastructure Platform.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
Network, Server or Storage Certifications e.g. CCIE, MCSE, VCDX, CCE, etc. would be helpful
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Seven or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.
