- Developing, evaluating, and executing energy efficiency measures and optimization strategies for application to the Institution
- Leading efforts to assist Facilities Management building operators in identifying and diagnosing energy and utilities waste on a daily, monthly, and annual basis
- Analyzing building systems energy performance against industry standards and benchmarks to provide guidance to optimize building operation
- Assisting with the development and implementation of energy master plan goals and energy efficient design standards for the Institution
- Manage the utility rebate programs to assure maximum benefit to MD Anderson
- Assist in the development of the annual energy and utilities budget and the administration of complex energy supply contracts
- Lead energy conservation measure development and implementation.
- Provide guidance to improve HVAC system performance and propose BAS tools for monitoring energy and utilities use.
- Support implementation of energy conservation programs including providing review comments on design plans and specifications prepared by others.
- Participate in project commissioning efforts to ensure efficient operation of utility consuming equipment.
- Assist with the development of energy master plans, specifications and design standards for the institution.
- Evaluate and introduce new energy efficiency technologies to the institution.
- Provide technical and configuration support for the implementation and maintenance of EnergyCAP and other specialty energy and utilities tracking and trending software.
- Develop, maintain and publish energy and utilities trending through the use of sub-metering and energy dashboards. Support the ongoing maintenance and calibration of institution owned sub-metering.
- Support the Manager of Energy and Utility Programs with the development of the annual utilities budget, building utilities consumption forecasts, monthly accrual reports and ongoing budget variance analysis.

The Engineering and Building Systems Management (EBSM) Energy & Utility Programs team is seeking a professional with strong background in energy audits, project scoping, and implementation of conservation measures.
Energy conservation measures at MD Anderson are typically engineered and continuously commissioned by dedicated in-house energy professionals working closely with operations staff to assure long term success.
This position will be dedicated to executing top payoff energy activity and reducing our utility expenses.MISSION STATEMENT

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Energy Consultant - Energy Projects position in Energy & Utility Programs is to provide a full range of strategic level support services related to the analysis of energy and utilities consumption and the efficient operation of our facilities.

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or related field. Five years engineering design experience with an emphasis on the design of facility systems.
