Senior Accountant
Description
CURE Auto Insurance is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the

monthly/quarterly/annual

financial close and financial reporting processes for a STAT basis insurance company and a GAAP basis management company. The Senior Accountant will focus primarily on financial reporting but will be expected to assist in

operational/budgeting

and ad hoc accounting projects as needed. This role will report directly to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close for insurance entity (STAT basis) and management company (GAAP basis)
Prepare account reconciliations and process journal entries.
Prepare variance analysis to explain fluctuations in key accounts.
Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures.
Interact with external auditors to provide

explanations/support

for financial statement audits.
Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures and internal controls.
Support Controller in preparation of materials for quarterly Board reporting (slide deck, industry highlights, etc.)

Skills/Experience

Required :
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Minimum 3 years of experience (either public accounting or in industry)
Experience in both GAAP and STAT reporting for insurance companies
Must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel
Must possess strong financial accounting/general ledger skills and understanding.

Preferred :
Experience in Property & Casualty insurance with emphasis on private passenger auto
Experience working with general ledger software.
Experience with STAT Annual Statement software (Gain Compliance, Wings, FIS, etc.)
