    Description


    Are you passionate about ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can apply your expertise to protect critical infrastructure? If so, we are seeking a talented Protection and Controls Engineer to join a global consultancy.

    This full-time position is available in multiple office location.

    As a Protection and Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining protection schemes for high-voltage substation and transmission systems.

    Your technical expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding utility and generation clients' assets while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.


    Responsibilities:
    Design and develop protection schemes for high-voltage substation and transmission systems.
    Generate one-line and three-line diagrams to illustrate protection configurations.
    Perform relay coordination studies and settings calculations to optimize system reliability.
    Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and schematics.
    Prepare equipment specifications and procurement documents.
    Conduct analysis and simulations using specialized software to evaluate system performance.
    Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate protection and control systems into overall infrastructure projects.
    Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
    Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices related to protection and controls engineering.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
    Previous experience in protection and controls engineering for high-voltage substation and transmission systems.
    Proficiency in relay coordination, settings calculations, and protection scheme design.
    Familiarity with industry-standard software tools such as ASPEN, ETap, SKM, etc.
    Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including FERC and NERC requirements.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
    AutoCAD Electrical experience is a plus.
    Experience with SCADA, RTU programming, and substation automation is advantageous.
    Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States.
