claims underwritten out of the Executive and Professional Liability unit.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team in Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or any BHSI office location.
We are also open to Candidate must have strong technical and analytic skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, as this role will have a high level of interaction with customers, brokers, outside counsel (defense and coverage), mediators, underwriters, actuaries and senior management.
Additional responsibilities include:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Independently evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.
Handle mediations on complex claims.
Handle claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution, including working with and advising internal partners on claims, developing a proactive plan of action for ultimate resolution, obtaining budgets and meeting with clients, counsel, and brokers.
Communicate and work with insureds, brokers and underwriters on a regular basis.Analyze and draft coverage letters and communicate complex coverage positions effectively.
Draft reports and make recommendations concerning reserve changes.
Travel to conferences, mediations, and client meetings, as necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
JD required.
7+ years substantives claim handling experience in professional lines.
Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills.
Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment.
BHSI Offers:
The base salary range for this position is from $140,000.00 to $165,000.00, along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate's salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience.
