    The Role:
    The Senior Data Engineer plays a significant role in shaping the data strategy and crafting the ideal data platform to meet business requirements. They spearhead the development of data pipelines and data products crucial for empowering analytics teams to achieve their objectives. They actively contribute to the vision of establishing our cutting-edge data infrastructure in Data Bricks. Collaboration with fellow engineers, data scientists, and reporting/analysis experts is essential to set forth optimal practices in creating systems and data products that effectively serve business needs.

    For this position, we are seeking candidates residing in the St. Louis, MO or Dallas/Ft. Worth TX areas. Although our day-to-day operations are conducted remotely, our teams come together in person for purposeful collaboration.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Drive automation initiatives within the data analytics team by leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) through tools like Terraform and MSFT Bicep, Configuration Management, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
    • Collaborate with internal infrastructure teams on monitoring, security, and configuration of azure environment and applications with a focus on data infrastructure and Data Bricks.
    • Identify data requirements for our clients, marketing team, and data science team, comprehend specific needs for metrics and analysis, and develop efficient and scalable data pipelines to provide effective data-driven products.
    • Create, maintain, and enhance marketing databases, datasets, pipelines, and warehouses to facilitate advanced segmentation, targeting, automation, and reporting.
    • Enable data integration and transformation needs for seamless data movement across applications; ensuring applications' interoperability with database, data warehouse, and data mart environments.
    • Contribute to the design and oversight of our technology stack employed for data storage and processing.
    • Establish and enforce quality controls and departmental standards to uphold quality benchmarks, organizational expectations, and regulatory compliance.
    • Participate in devising and executing educational strategies on data engineering capabilities, systems, standards, and procedures.
    • Anticipate forthcoming demands in areas of people, technology, budget, and business within your division and devise/implement solutions to address these needs.
    • Communicate outcomes and business implications of insight initiatives to stakeholders internally and externally.

    Requirements

    • 5 years of experience in modern data engineering projects and methodologies: designing, constructing, and deploying scalable data pipelines with over 3 years of experience in implementing cloud-native solutions.
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Data Bricks, lakehouse architecture, and delta lake
    • Proficient programming abilities in Python, Java, or Scala, and their respective standard data processing libraries
    • 3 years of experience in building data pipelines for AI/ML models using PySpark or Python
    • Experience in developing data pipelines with contemporary tools like Fivetran, dbt, etc.
    • At least 2 years of practical experience with Azure, SQL, Python, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git
    • Expertise in Spark, Kafka, etc.
    • Skilled in integrating data from fundamental platforms such as Marketing Automation, CRM, and Analytics into a centralized warehouse.
    • Adherence to software development best practices with a strong emphasis on producing high-quality code, automated testing, and other engineering standards
    • Familiarity with Azure services like Azure functions, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Cosmos, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, etc.
    • Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
