Job Summary
Sponsel CPA Group is seeking full-time staff accountants for hire upon graduation, starting in January 2022 and late summer or fall of 2022.
This position will perform the duties of an audit and/or tax staff, depending on the candidate's preference of type of work.
As an audit staff, the candidate would be involved in the planning of an audit, review, or compilation engagement, learning the company environment while performing assurance services, identifying potential inefficiencies and making recommendations to the senior staff on the engagement.
As a tax staff, the candidate would be involved in preparing personal and business income tax returns, learning and applying tax laws to client situations, identifying and recommending tax savings ideas and planning concerns, and researching tax related questions in response to client needs.
Skills PreferredCandidates are asked to have strong analytical and problem solving skills. The candidate must demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and understanding of GAAP and/or Federal tax concepts. A desire to learn in a team environment is preferred, as is a friendly and professional attitude. Candidate must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
