Job Summary:
The University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences invites applications for one full-time position at the level of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Professor who will work in the research side of the department.
The duties of the position include:
Lead lab studies of MIG devices including supporting surgery, monitoring animals and writing/submitting research protocols and findings Lead outflow perfusion studies using human specimens.
Correlate genetic markers and outflow differences Act as industry liaison regarding research initiatives, studies and funding opportunities Seek extramural funding from Federal grants, foundations and industry partners Qualifications:Applicants must have at least 3 years experience in bioengineering and/or physiology and at least a PhD degree in foundational basic science
Essential Functions:
The applicant will be involved in: Running a productive laboratory using appropriate scientific methods, including supervising laboratory personnel Document and publish research findings in peer reviewed journals Seek extramural funding to support key research activities Teach trainees and participate in academic activities and committees as assigned by the VP Research or Chair.
