    Job Description

    The Arnold laboratory seeks a Research Specialist II with an interest in translational neuromuscular physiology.

    The focus of the Arnold lab is on the mechanisms that underlie age-related loss of neural function, neurodegeneration, and genetic neuromuscular disorders and the development of therapies.

    We are particularly interested in investigating motor neuron dysfunction as a key mechanism of loss of function during aging. We are using a combination of in vivo electrophysiological and physiological assays combined with transgenic and genetic strategies.

    The candidate will be an important part of an interdisciplinary team which includes scientists, physicians, and physician-scientists with a variety of perspectives including genetics, neuroscience, and biochemistry.

    The candidate will develop a unique skillset in translational neuromuscular physiology relevant to a diverse array of neurological disorders.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform experiments and measurements (molecular, behavioral, physiological) and work within standard procedures.

    Organize, visualize, and analyze data gathered from expirments.

    Prepare manuscripts.

    Attend lab meetings, and relevant seminars.

    Manage mouse colony, and other lab tasks.

    Shift

    Monday - Friday - 5 p.m.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
