- Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Coordinates the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to leave of absence, compensation, benefits, and disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Maintains accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits enrollment, and timekeeping systems.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, and anti-harassment training.
- Assists employees with benefit enrollment, and 401K changes, and inquiries.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Conducts regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with HR policies and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Stays informed about relevant employment laws and regulations and ensure company policies and practices remain compliant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems preferably ADP and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in California HR with a focus on HR administration.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
