    Description
    Addison Group Los Angeles seeks an Accounting Supervisor to join a non-profit organization located in Downtown Los Angeles.

    Job

    • The hired Accounting Supervisor will report to the Accounting Manager and be an integral to leading the accounting team on all matters in Payroll, Inventory, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
    Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote)

    Compensation/Benefits

    – Salary range is $95,000 to $115,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with health insurance (M/D/V), life insurance, disability insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching, FSA spending plans, and commuter pre-tax reimbursements.


    ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR DUTIES
    Accounting (Operations)
    Manage the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) departments, including managers and specialists
    Ensure accurate month and quarter end accounting closes
    Monitor weekly cash flows, including payments and receipts
    Oversee consolidation of all domestic financial statements
    Contact vendors insofar as to payment terms and deadlines
    Create KPI's for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable specialists to measure work performance
    Ensure rigorous adherence to GAAP concepts and internal control regulations throughout the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments
    Embrace continuous improvement among the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Departments
    General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
    Supervise the posting of all relevant journal entries for Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger
    Manage all month-end and quarter-end closes
    Handle all inventory, purchasing issues, production, sales, expenses, and liabilities
    Assist in preparation of balance sheet, variance analysis, and P&L account analysis & reconciliations as it relates to inventory and manufacturing issues for executives and board members
    Review all fixed asset transactions
    Audit and Compliance
    Explain to external auditors how the transaction benefited the grant, activity, or budget
    Explain how the transaction was identified to the grant, activity, or budget
    Update the Controller as to the progress of the audit
    Assist in all other compliance issues
    Miscellaneous
    Accept other ad hoc duties as needed


    ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS
    Required
    Bachelors in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus
    At least five (5) years of General Ledger (G/L) Accounting Experience
    At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
    Preferred
    Non-profit and/or health care sector work experience
    System Implementation
