CAS Supervisor Essential Functions

  • Execute the vision of the monthly financial close ensuring it is timely, and the monthly close deliverable is achieved.
  • Understanding of the internal control environment necessary on a client and advise where weaknesses or strengths are present.
  • Help solidify clients' visions through budget preparation. Monitor budget versus actual and have active discussions with clients regarding variances.
  • Owns the onboarding / offboarding of clients in their care and assists in a project environment to help transition.
  • Function as a liaison, leading a client through a financial statement audit to ensure clients are "audit ready" with their yearend close and analysis of key account balances.
  • Ability to complete complex and noncomplex account reconciliations (i.e., investment and equity roll forward schedules) and record transactions as part of the monthly closing process.
  • Review financial statements, prepare variance analysis, and analyze unusual items.
  • Participate and lead special projects such as software implementations, payroll provider conversion, and accounting system migration.
  • Prepare annual business filings (i.e.,1099's and business property tax statements (571L).
  • Process payroll, sales tax, inventory, and fixed asset management.
  • Build processes and procedures for clients.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will mentor, train, and develop staff and seniors.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
  • CPA or in the process of obtaining is preferred
  • 6 years of general accounting experience
  • 1 year of experience training and supervising staff
  • Experience working in an audit department of a CPA firm preferred
  • Capable of working in a demanding, deadlinedriven environment either independently or within a team dynamic while effectively managing unexpected issues and/or questions in a professional manner
  • Strong excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's, Sumifs, etc.)
  • Able to research technical accounting guidance into clear, thoughtful, and deliverable action
  • Clientcentric approach to all matters
  • Ability to travel to client locations
  • Experience working with privately held clients a plus

Pay:
$85, $130,000.00 per year
