    About the Job

    The project controls coordinator must have knowledge, experience, and an understanding of project control systems and schedule management. They will work on EPCS projects that require complex interactions between project partners and subcontractors. The project controls coordinator will work closely with the project team to provide detailed planning that ensures time-efficient and cost-effective project execution.

    While the Project Controls Coordinator will be assigned to our Houston office, the company may ask them to consider temporary out-of-town assignments to aid us in the execution of projects for our clients.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manage the collection, processing, and distribution of all contractual notices, change directives, field directives, work orders, forms, technical requirements, memos, etc.
    • Process, format and transmit all Contractor deliverables required by Owner.
    • Manage Contractor report deliverable deadlines (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly) and ensure compliance with Owner requirements.
    • Collaborate with and support construction team to ensure on-time delivery of contractual requirements and project objectives.
    • Assist with procurement and purchasing.
    • Assist with P6 Schedule updates, including all reporting aspects to client.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan.
    • This includes the HSE Plan. Assist the site safety supervisor in ensuring the HSE Plan is being implemented and followed.
    • This also includes the QA/QC plan. Assist the Quality Control team in ensuring the plan is being implemented and followed.
    • Assist with the development, tracking and distribution of the punch list process through Procore.
    • Assist with the collection and submission of project closeout documentation.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Considerable knowledge of the construction industry and safety practices.
    • Strong organizational skills including the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
    • Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
    • Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
    • Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
    • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Four-year college degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
    • Minimum five years of successful project control experience.
    • Experience with P6 is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience in estimating is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience with Procore is preferred, but not required.
    • OSHA 30 preferred, but not required.
    • Current CPR/First-Aid certification or ability to obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Physical abilities representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be able to perform physical activities that require the use of arms, legs, and entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, etc.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to work in a variety of work conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noise, smells, weather elements, and other elements associated with commercial construction sites.
    • To safely conduct activities, operate equipment, and navigate the worksite, must be able to be aware of surroundings (which generally requires sufficient vision and hearing).
    • Must be able to distinguish colors given safety signs and warnings.
    • Must be able to maintain balance.
    • Must be able to safely work on or around scaffolding and trenches.
    • Must be able to use all applicable Personal Protective Equipment.
    • Must be able to perform all the functions necessary to complete the above duties/responsibilities on a safe but timely basis.
