    Corporate Development Associate

    Charlotte, NC

    Salary range - $120,000-$125,000 plus 20% bonus opportunity

    Projected Start Date – June/July 2024

    A rapidly growing private equity-backed petroleum equipment distributor and construction firm based in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to help manage a highly active M&A pipeline. The Company has double digit organic growth as it expands its service offerings in the environmental and EV business segments. The Company completed six acquisitions in 2023 and expects to complete 6-8 acquisitions per year for the foreseeable future. The position will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Development and will have responsibility for developing financial models, preparing presentation materials, and coordinate post-close integration for corporate acquisition opportunities. Role will also include assisting in the management of the deal process, including interaction with sellers, third party diligence service providers, the Board of Directors and the Private Equity ownership group.

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Energetic professional with 2-3 years of full-time experience in investment banking / mergers & acquisitions, family office, private equity, or management consulting at the analyst or associate level
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field from an accredited university
    • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience taking ownership of financial models
    • Strong working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including valuation techniques
    • Experience in construction and/or Percentage of Completion accounting is a plus
    • Highly organized and motivated with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities and the ability to work without close supervision
    • Individual shall demonstrate good judgment, high integrity and sound decision-making skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, and must be able to articulate and understand complex issues along with the ability to effectively communicate with different areas / levels within the organization
    • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word along with the ability to learn new applications as necessary
    • Must be able to work under deadline pressure with competing priorities and must be willing to work outside of normal office hours as required
    • Must be available for some travel

    Position will be based out of the Company's headquarters in Charlotte, NC – candidate must be local to the area or willing to relocate
