    Description

    Keeping law enforcement and intelligence data secure is a crucial mission for the FBI. We are looking for a candidate to support the FBI's cross domain system (CDS) that enables secure access to sensitive data. Join a small team responsible for Operations & Maintenance support on existing CDS systems, involving deployment of new systems, integration of technologies, and troubleshooting data flows. The role includes quick response to critical system incidents and direct interaction with customers and CDS staff.

    This role is part of a team maintaining a continuous presence at designated FBI processing facilities.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage systems in a VMWare environment
    • Install software and firmware updates, patches, and antivirus software on CDS guards
    • Monitor systems for issues
    • Resolve problems by analyzing issues, implementing solutions, or working with vendors
    • Respond to incident tickets within required timeframes
    • Run scripts to collect system metrics
    • Set up and maintain user accounts
    • Support security vulnerability scan activities
    • Participate in meetings to discuss system status and technical issues

    Basic Qualifications

    • Experience in IT support and system administration
    • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience or Master's degree
    • Linux system administration experience
    • Understanding of network administration and installation in enterprise environments
    • Ability to stay organized, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks
    • Experience with Virtual Environment administration
    • Ability to adapt to new environments and collaborate in a team
    • Ability to work independently and follow change management processes
    • Strong communication skills
    • Capability to lift up to 35lbs multiple times daily

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Testing complex IT systems
    • Debugging COTS/GOTS systems
    • Experience with Virtual Environment administration
    • Proficiency in Linux systems
    • Knowledge of system hardening and security
    • Familiarity with Apache Nifi
    • Networking and system integration skills
    • Experience with cross domain products
    • Script level routines development
