    ****Job Summary****

    The Buyer II is responsible for purchasing material, securing third-party rentals and placing subcontracts required for construction projects, assisting project management/estimating on sourcing bids, selecting suppliers, negotiating best pricing and terms, and expediting deliveries of equipment and materials.

    ****Essential Functions****

    Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

    Actively support the Companys commitment to safety and its Core Values.

    Process daily material requisitions from the jobsites/project management to supply the site with materials, supplies, equipment, and third-party rental equipment at a reasonable cost and by the date required.

    Source, negotiate pricing and terms, place purchase orders, and expedite delivery; maintain positive supplier relationships.

    Monitor and chart purchase orders/change orders and maintain procurement status reports and rental equipment logs.

    Interface between suppliers and various internal departments to resolve issues, invoice problems, material specification questions, variances, etc., as required.

    Ensure strong purchase orders by including all material/service specifications, as listed on Bills of Material and Engineering drawings, as well as all required commercial documents.

    Request pricing for project managers and estimators as needed to allow them to prepare their bids in the most time and cost-efficient methods possible. Perform bid reviews.

    Identify new suppliers that can provide the most cost-efficient, timely, and quality products possible; maintain positive relationships with current suppliers.

    Perform complete supplier evaluations and assist with maintaining Approved Supplier List.

    Evaluate price trends in the appropriate markets/industry.

    Monitor new trends in purchasing; recommend new ideas and trends to management.

    Maximize savings in all aspects of purchasing.

    Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    ****Qualifications****

    2-year technical degree and 4+ years experience in purchasing, preferably in the construction/industrial area; 6+ years experience, if no degree.

    Strong working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures, as well as strong knowledge of construction/industrial materials and equipment.

    Strong negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary.

    Knowledge of API, ASME, and ASTM code.

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; maintain flexibility when working with other departments.

    Computer skills include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with a completely integrated business software.

    Occasional overtime and willingness to travel as needed/required.
