****About the Unit****
The Terminal Operator - Forklift performs all receiving and shipping duties involving prepackaged products which includes accurately weighing, recording, and palletizes both large and small bags of product for storage and shipment. The position holder will also assist in maintaining the warehouse for the safe and efficient storage of prepackaged product.
****Responsibilities****
Unload fertilizer tote bags and stacks them; load fertilizer tote bags onto trucks
Weigh and record the volume of product in tote bags. Keep appropriate records
Coordinate with truck drivers for safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks
Supplies various manual and computer-generated receipt and shipment reports, as directed by Terminal Manager
Train colleagues in warehouse and forklift operations; cross-train on pay-loader operation
Read, understand and implement HESQ manual in all matters pertaining to this job
Develop a general understanding of the Yara ALS system
Maintain the terminal grounds, forklifts, and all other warehouse equipment in a clean, safe and efficient manner at all times.
Maintain Product Stewardship standards for warehouse operations and report as needed when issues are noted
Participate in the following activities: Systematic Inspections, Safety Walks/WOCs, 5S/Lean
Perform any other duties assigned by the Terminal Manager, including cross-training with other members of the terminal staff and assistance with vessel discharge
****Profile****
High school diploma or equivalent
Warehouse experience
First aid, CPR, Blood borne Pathogen and AED certified is a plus
Eligible for Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
Safety and process oriented
Willing to work in and contribute to a diverse group
Good maintenance skills
****Additional Information****
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
The position holder must to be able to:
+ Lift and carry (up to 50 lbs. bags)
+ Use shovel to pick-up heavy cargo
+ Pick-up heavy material lbs.)
+ Work in confined spaces
+ Work at heights (up to 150 feet)
+ Work on feet for several hours, including bending and kneeling
+ Wear respiratory protection, in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Parts 1910 & 1926
+ Wear all types of personal protective equipment, including fall protection
+ Work outdoors/indoors under extreme temperatures
+ Work overtime and work adjusted hours/work days due to schedule changes when there is a need/requirement to deliver on terminal obligations.
