    The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This position will assist with financial reporting and month-end closing entries. Have a strong understanding of accounting basics and fundamentals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, have a clear understanding of how the GL and the trial balance flow up to the financial
    statements, assess internal controls and must have advanced Excel skills.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
    • Preparing financial analyses and reports.
    • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
    • Prepares internal financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
    • Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules and determination of proper timing of revenue recognition.
    • Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP.
    • Provides status of the financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Cross-train and/or act as backup for other positions in the GL department
    • Communicate effectively with team members in other departments to resolve problems
    and provide information as needed

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be capable of performing each of the above-stated essential duties satisfactorily including the ability to identify, research and resolve variances. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of accounting experience
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
    • CPA or other professional certifications may also be beneficial but not required.
    • Management experience a plus but no required
