- Process payroll for weekly and bi-weekly USA (including expats) and Canada union and non union companies.
- Process payroll monthly for QIndia and QBelgium and process funding requests for vendors
- Process and report on taxes, garnishments, child support deductions, and union benefits for worldwide companies ensuring compliance in all jurisdictions
- Balance, reconcile, research and document variances and discrepancies for payroll and taxes on a per pay period, quarterly, and annual basis for applicable companies. Escalate where needed.
- Assist Accounting with GL reporting and balancing
- Participate in all internal and external audits including USA and CAN workers compensation, unions, and Accounting requests
- Assists employees and managers with timecard questions including certain training, auditing missed punches, and unapproved timesheets. Coach employees and managers on the self-service options available.
- Direct deposit change approver, W-4 (U.S) and Personal Amount (CAN) changes
- Manage address changes that affect taxation
- Review agency notices, open cases with payroll vendor, and follow up to resolve discrepancies.
- Responsible for all year end closing activities including auditing and distributing W2/T4 forms, writing and sending tax exemption letters and state specific wage notices.
- Creates and distributes paper checks, off cycle checks, and post only checks for wire transfers. Requests stop payments.Performs adjustments including recording third party sick payments.
- Work with accounting to register or close withholding and/or unemployment accounts in a variety of jurisdictions
- Maintain integrity of the payroll electronic filing system.
- Processes various union payments.
- Initiate check requests with Accounts Payable, prepare checks for delivery to vendors, payees, agencies.
- Assists with the development of efficient, effective, and automated payroll processes
- Detail oriented and deadline driven.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think logically and critically to create innovative solutions to complicated problems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel (Intermediate).

Job Purpose:Accurately and timely processes USA, Canada, India, and Belgium payrolls. Collect data to maintain accurate payroll records. Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
Essential Functions:
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resource Management. 5 years of payroll related experience.
Desired: Global payroll processing experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is primarily an office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May work offsite in various environments; travel may be required. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports and records that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.
