    Job Description:

    The Philanthropy Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.


    The Philanthropy Coordinator performs a critical support role on Northwestern Memorial Foundations (NMF) fundraising team.

    They are responsible for working with NMF philanthropy associates, managers, directors, vice presidents and other NMF team members to coordinate activities and initiatives, completing projects as assigned.

    NMF raises funds to support the health systems strategic goals to deliver exceptional care and experience, advance and extend medical science and knowledge and enhance people, culture and resources through: (1) raising planned, principal and major gifts, (2) cultivating and stewarding donors, and (3) fostering a culture of philanthropy at NMHC.



    Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Program Manager, Prospect Research & Development, the Philanthropy Coordinator, Prospect Research & Development focuses on fulfilling requests for information, providing research, prospect identification, and prospect management for NMF stakeholders while maintaining the integrity of the database by performing regular data audits and cleanup.


    Prospect Research, Prospect Management, and Support:

    Research identified prospects to establish estimated gift capacity and provide context of prospects

    Manage information and moves management requests; set request priorities and deadlines and work with multiple stakeholders to identify their needs and ensure best practices in prospect research and development

    Provide support for front-line colleagues with Raisers Edge database, and other integrated/aligned fundraising tools, subscriptions, and services

    Assist NMF staff in use of Raisers Edge for basic queries and data entry with the goal of enabling all staff members to become self-sufficient, while maintaining high quality and security standards

    Coordinate new user setup and training

    Assist with routine data audits and necessary clean-up for quality control

    Work with the Prospect Research & Development team to manage the quality of portfolios, prospect pipeline, prospect research, and prospect management

    Manage purchase orders and check request process for PR&D department

    Calendar coordination as necessary


    Data Delivery:
    Research identified prospects to establish estimated gift capacity and provide bespoke research biographies for front-line fundraisers

    Provide training and support for NMF staff as appropriate

    Qualifications


    Required:
    Bachelors degree or 4 years equivalent work experience;

    1+ years of experience in a fundraising, community outreach, healthcare or administrative support position, preferably in a non-profit organization;

    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);

    Ability to organize and think independently with orientation to deadline and detail;

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

    High degree of professionalism, sensitivity and integrity;

    Strong intellectual curiosity, initiative, and highly effective listening and communication skills;

    Proven ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, track details;

    Demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a team environment;

    Comfort handling multiple projects, accurately setting priorities on a regular basis, thinking creatively and working as a collaborative team member.



    Preferred:
    Fundraising industry experience.

    Healthcare industry experience.

    Experience with MS Dynamics, Raisers Edge or other CRM systems
