    The Manufacturing Support Summer Program role is accountable for learning and assisting with manufacturing operations, as requested. The Manufacturing Support Summer Program is exclusively for recent high school graduates in the Mon-Valley area.

    ResponsibilitiesThe Manufacturing Support Summer Program role may perform some, or all of, the following responsibilities:

    Shipping and ReceivingUploading packing slips into ERP systemComparing packing lists to company purchase orders to ensure products in each delivery match packing slipStore items received in appropriate storage areas, documenting any changesPrepare items for shipping, noting item contents, delivery methods, and other logistical detailsIdentify and resolve shipping, storage, or receiving discrepancies as they arisePacking products for return to vendors and completing any paperwork necessaryAssist in pulling partsAssist in organizing shelvesAssemblyUnpacking/sorting/storage of materialsPrepare parts for assemblyDry battery assemblyDry battery testingElectrolyte fillingQuality controlFinal assembly of batteries and systems.

    Material HandlingLoad/unload material from trucksRecording transactions into the ERP systemPerform transfers of material in ERP system with a scan gun and computer.

    InventoryMonitor, use, and maintain inventories of spare parts, supplies, equipment, and finished productClose purchase orders upon completion of receiving inventory.

    Environmental, Health, and SafetyPerform job safety assessments.
    Support the EHS team with projects as they arise.
    Conduct safety inspections.
    Additional ResponsibilitiesOperate within existing safety guidelines at all times.
    Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
    Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesGood communication skills and attention to detail.
    Ability to perform basic math calculations.
    Must be able to lift to a maximum of 50 lbs. (occasionally).Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
    Must be able to tolerate repetitive motion.
    Able to maintain accurate records.
    Operate within existing safety guidelines.
    Must have reliable transportation.
    Effectively organize, prioritize, and manage time.
    Ability to work 8, 10, or 12 hours shifts, with occasional weekends on an as-needed basis.

    • The worker may be subject to hazards.
    Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes or exposure to chemicals.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases.

    The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

    Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:

    preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

    Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats.

    May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
