Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides information technology resources for collegewide technology planning, provides rationale to collaborative decision making to Vice President of Planning, Performance, and Technology; maintains positive working relationships with College constituencies and external stakeholders; while ensuring consistency with the mission statement of the College.
  • Oversees creation of the Information Technology Strategic Plan including planning for future information technology services and the requirements of the College; oversees the timely implementation of approved plans and measures progress against information technology goals.
  • Manages the architectural aspects of Information Technology Services Department, Network Services, and Software Development and leads governance and infrastructure services for the IT Department. Maintains an effective service organizational structure; provides the opportunity for professional growth andserves as an example to the staff. Supervises relevant Information Technology Services personnel.
  • Provides leadership for technology initiatives college wide and ensures efficient integration of various systems; recommends campuswide policies for information technology services to the Vice President of Planning, Performance, and Technology; maintains information technology policies; works with advisory committees, faculty, staff, administrators, and students to ensure IT maintains service delivery objectives.
  • Keeps the College informed of new developments, products, systems, and services in the fields of cybersecurity, instructional and administrative information technology, and articulates strategic vision in practical terms.
  • Manages coordination and approval of the shared budget for Information Technology Services operating expenses and Information Technology plan expenses.
  • Oversees contracts and maintenance renewals for all enterprisewide software and hardware used by the College.
  • Responsible for the hiring, termination, and promotion of employees.
  • Evaluates employees' performance annually.
  • Carries out any other duties assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields or equivalent required.
  • Experience
  • 10 years of related experience with 7 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a large organization with administrative, telecommunication, and information technology responsibilities required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Administrative office, varied working hours with 24/7 availability.
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
  • Physical demands include sedentary work, campus meetings, and day and overnight travel.
  • Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.
