The Anaheim Convention Center reigns as the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast, having hosted such large, well-attended events as the Winter NAMM Show, Disney's D23 Expo, Star Wars Celebration and Natural Products Expo West.
Originally opened in 1967, the ACC currently spans 53 acres and the offers 1.8 million square feet of function space and many dynamic features.
The ACC completed its seventh expansion in Fall of 2017, providing an additional 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space to our guests.
Essential Functions:
- The following functions are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed functions and/or may be required to perform additional or different functions from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices._
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing parking services and activities within the assigned section of Parking Operations for the Anaheim Convention Center within the Convention/Sports and Entertainment Department.
Review, monitor, and adjust staffing levels to accommodate the parking needs of scheduled events; account for all staff hours; create parking lot hours; ensure that time sheets and financial documents submitted are complete and accurate.
Participate in development and implementation of procedures and/or responsibilities in regards to members of the Parking Department and their individual job requirements, including Parking Attendants, Parking Cashiers, & Parking Operational Leads.
Serve as liaison to clients, contractors, vendors, committees, management level employees and line-level staff for various parking, traffic, dock management, and Convention Center operational needs.
Be on-call beyond standard business hours to respond to various emergency situations for both staffing operational needs and event operational needs.
Participate in the selection of part time parking staff; create and/or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement and participate in progressive discipline procedures.
Monitor and maintain parking entry equipment by periodically inspecting and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions; contact relevant equipment vendors to repair equipment as needed.
Meet and coordinate with Anaheim Police Department (APD), Anaheim Traffic Management Center (TMC), local hotels, Disney, and other overflow parking facilities and lots in order to develop, coordinate, and implement traffic and parking plans for Anaheim Resort area events; and adjust plans and equipment as needed to maintain best street traffic flow and most convenient guest parking available; must be able to adjust mid-operation as needed based on event needs.
Determine and recommend traffic control and parking needs; including the use of overhead traffic signage, parking lot opening/closing times, and overflow parking needs.
Assist in the development of truck-marshalling plans for event managers and decorators; meet with all involved parties to ensure accurate communication and implementation.
Manage daily accounting responsibilities by monitoring the parking vault (as needed), creating and reconciling Toll Reports, assisting with variance reporting, checking and balancing credit card machines, depositing monies (as needed), and maintaining records (as needed) and files.
Assist Parking Manager in the preparation of the program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures based on budget expectations provided.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
Four (4) years of professional parking operation and/or traffic management supervisory experience, supplemented by completion of the twelfth grade and college level course work in business administration, public administration, facilities management, traffic/transportation management, or a related field.
An equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
