    This is a benefits-eligiblefull-time grant funded position.

    This position is funded for 5 years.

    The Research ProgramManager's primary role is to provide oversight for and manage the researchportfolio of Dr. Whitney Irie.

    The Research Program Manager will (1) ensureeffective implementation of sponsored research studies; (2) train and superviseresearch personnel (including graduate research assistants); and (3) monitorappropriate budget spending for each project in coordination with the AssistantDirector of Fiscal and Grant Administration at the Boston College School ofSocial Work.

    The Research Program Manager will oversee the management andimplementation of funded research studies led by Dr. Whitney Irie in the Schoolof Social Work.

    The Research Program Manager will develop and instituteprocedures to ensure effective implementation of the sponsored research to meetstudy goals, serve as a primary liaison with research partners, train anddirect graduate research assistants, and ensure timely development of researchdeliverables.

    The Research Program Manager will report to Dr. Whitney Irie and supervise2-3 graduate research assistants.

    Essential functions of this position include:

    Research Management (60%):


    Engage in high-level coordination and dailymanagement of sponsor research activities; Serve as primary liaison withresearch partners; Collaborate with study investigators and partners to ensurethat study aims are fulfilled; Develop and manage comprehensive timelines andmetrics; Create protocols for quantitative and qualitative data collectionactivities; Develop and implement protocols, procedures and policies to ensureconsistency of implementation of best practices across studies; Strategize withPIs, research team members, and administrative staff when problems arise andoffer solutions; Ensure that study enrollment and data analysis advancesaccording to expected timelines; Develop and maintain protocols for requiredreporting, and data sharing for all NIH awards; Maintain a positive andcollaborative research environment.

    Administration (25%):


    Draft, manage, and submit all IRB documentation;Develop and implement administrative systems and procedures to ensure effectiveimplementation of sponsored research; Support PI in organizing and structuringresearch team meetings, prepare meeting notes with support from the graduateresearch assistant(s) and follow-up on action items; Manage researchcommunications; Develop progress reports and grant deliverables according toproposed timelines; Foster and maintain collaborative relationships withdepartments and offices at Boston College; Assist with planning and draftinggrant applications and research publications.

    Supervision (5%):

    Supervise the activities of student researchassistants; Oversee student schedules and maintain workflows.

    Financial Management (10%) : Manage budgeting and financial reportingrequired for compliance on assigned research projects.

    This is a demanding position that requires a flexible work schedule tomeet deadlines.

    This position requires some travel to oversee activities at projectsites.

    Requirements


    Required Qualifications : 3+ years of experience directingday-to-day research activities in an academic context; Experience in teammanagement, particularly overseeing student interns or research assistant;Experience managing large data collection activities (preferable qualitativeand quantitative data); Experience developing and managing IRB protocols;In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Experiencedeveloping online surveys using Qualtrics; Experience using project managementsoftware such as ClickUp (preferred) or Asana or Trello.


    Preferred Qualifications :

    Experience workingwith community partners in the context of research; Working knowledge ofintervention development and evaluation methods (e.g., formative research,process evaluation, impact evaluation); Experience with qualitative andquantitative analysis; Experience using or commitment to learn and masterproject management software such as ClickUp.
