ABOUT OUR SUMMER PROGRAM


The Carroll Center welcomes students ages 7 to 21, who are blind or visually impaired with the possibility of additional disabilities, to participate in a variety of summer youth programs that empower them to develop socially, academically, and independently.


WHO WE SEEK


We seek enthusiastic and compassionate Residential Rehab Assistant (RRA) motivated to create a positive and safe experience in dormitory living and help students achieve their goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help with dorm setup prior to student arrival. Greet students on their first day and assist with moving into the dorm. Assist with the moveout process at the end of the program.
  • Dispense medication to students as assigned and tend to all medical needs, under nurse's guidance.
  • Review overnight RA shift report and students' individual needs. Communicate individual student needs to others interacting with students during the day.
  • Assist with breakfast and or lunch.
  • Support and foster independence for students in their daily routines (i.e. lunch prep instruction, grooming, time management).
  • Report student training needs (i.e. mobility, grooming) to relevant staff and assist with such training when appropriate.
  • Attend weekly off campus field trips and take head counts on trips.
  • Organize recreation and social activities for students when needed.
  • Drive students to and from different campuses or other destinations as needed.
  • Coordinate student cash needs.
  • Perform other duties or related tasks as assigned.

Weekly Schedule:_

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 8am-5pm


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 20 years old.
  • Some college education and related work experience in human services strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, problemsolving, and oral/written communication skills required.
  • Must be available to commit full time for the duration of the program
  • Have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
