Automation Specialist Position Summary:

Thepurpose of this position is to provide technical support in thetroubleshooting of electrical and control systems and machinerythroughout the facility.

Design, modify and upgrade electrical controlsystems. Additionally, assist in the development of electrical skills inour maintenance department inclusive of maintaining documentation asdirected. Perform other tasks as directed.

Essential Duties:

Reviewand approve electrical schematics changes and updates made under yourdirection providing this information to engineering. Drawings shall beupdated with corrections, recorded and distributed to the correctpanels.
Ensure compliance with all safety and Good ManufacturingPractice policies and procedures in areas of own responsibility; provideongoing training and enforcement as appropriate. This shall includedesign and implementation of redundant electrical safety circuits as percode and general industrial practices.
Assist in developing andupdating an electrical PM program. Review current machine PM schedulesand steps and suggest changes as needed to encompass electrical devicesand cleaning procedures.
Assist in the standardization of controlsthroughout the production areas. Engage local vendors to ensure we areutilizing the best devices and that we are standardizing machinery forcommon parts.
Analyze electrical processes and methods; recommend andimplement changes and new programs which improve costs. Administer thepractical exams for mechanics seeking to gain the electrical specialtyskill. Provide guidance to them and offer methods for improvement tohone their skill set.

5 to 7 years. Associates degree in electrical relatedstudies or 5 years\' experience.

Equipment/Software Skills:
PC Literacy.
Electrical power, control, and PCL diagnostic skills.
