Production Manager IBrief Description Regal Rexnord, a leading supplier in the Aerospace and Defense industry, is seeking a Production Manager who will report directly to the Plant Manager and manage the production operations for a 65 associate, $12 Million, Aerospace business that manufactures a variety of gears.
The Production Manager owns the metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, total associate engagement, cross training and continuous improvement, to include 5S.
The Production Manager is responsible for driving improvements in all of the aforementioned metrics as well as developing the shop floor Team Leaders and Associates to improve their technical skills, take ownership of their areas, and function as a cohesive, independent group.
Key AccountabilitiesDrive Safety Awareness and ImprovementsVerify Associates adherence to all quality proceduresEnsure daily maintenance of the SQDC reporting by each departmentImplement Operations OTD CountermeasuresOwn the Performance Review process for each associate and give regular performance feedbackVerify completion of TPM activities in each department and drive equipment downtime issues to resolutionLead and maintain 5S activities and standardsLead communication meetings with shop teamsCoach and empower Team Leaders and Associates to improve and take ownership of their areas and TeamsEnsure timely flow of orders through the shopDevelop and lead effort to cross train associatesMaintain employee timekeeping and attendanceJob Requirements, Capabilities, and Success FactorsFour year college degree (or related experience) and a minimum of five years manufacturing experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing (machine shop) environmentExperience with metal manufacturing to include grinding, hobbing, shaping preferred; experience with gear manufacturing is a big plusMinimum three years supervisory or applicable experienceExperience participating in/leading Kaizen Events focused on process improvements using lean manufacturing techniquesEffective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong leadership style and ability effectively escalate production and personnel issues to get them resolved in a timely fashionAbility to promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture across a large associate teamAbility to maintain an even demeanor in the face of adversity and exemplify strong, confident and fair leadershipWorking knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing Concepts and the benefits of cellular manufacturingWorking knowledge OSHA Safety RegulationsAbility to gather data and facts around operational issues and formulate and execute an action plan to systematically eliminate these issuesSupport weekend supervision coverageBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug CoverageSpending accounts (HSA, Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA)Paid Time Off and Holidays401k Retirement Plan with Matching Employer ContributionsLife and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) InsurancePaid LeavesTuition AssistanceAbout Regal RexnordRegal Rexnord's 30,000 associates around the world help create a better tomorrow by providing sustainable solutions that power, transmit and control motion.
