Job Summary:
The Transportation Operations Director is responsible for overseeing transportation operations while growing Rinchem s revenue streams and profit in the transportation line of business while in compliance with regulations and our contracted terms while timely movement of hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications:
Experience & Education
Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred
At least 5-10 years of experience of progressive transportation management setting
Experience with hazardous materials and/or pharmaceutical transportation
Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and other applicable federal and state regulations
Business development acumen and sales success
Communication Skills
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with suppliers
Ability to speak effectively and persuasively before groups of customers or other CSCs
Computer Skills
Ability to learn transportation system(s) of record
Proficiency in applicable programs
MS Office suite skills and experience (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint)
Familiarity with NCR/CAPA system and ability to help determine root cause and make suggestions for continuous improvement
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Ability to obtain Rinchem Supervisor Certification
Must be able to successfully complete U.S. DOT Motor Carrier Safety Compliance Course
Ability to obtain other certifications as required for position
Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of all regulatory subject matter needed to maintain compliance in transportation activities

Primary Responsibilities:
This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities; other assignments will be made as needed
System of record super user
Direction of CGLT asset group (OTR with potential for local delivery group)
Manages improvement projects that will level up the service of CGLT (Last Mile)
Owns asset group metrics (publishing, utilization and improvement)
Responsible for assisting Managers to standardized and automate processes
Ability to differentiate CGLT from other carriers and maintain a superior level of service
Oversee billing auditing to ensure accuracy to our internal and external customers
Asset staff credit card reconciliation
Oversee supplier management concerning the maintenance and upkeep of assets
Prove and improve ROA
Oversee Day to Day OTR duties to ensure safety and financial expectations are met
Internal and External Customer interaction
Assist and facilitate GTO/Asset business rules and interactions
Assures all staff stays compliant in training and other areas as needed
Maintain and leverage current client relationships and grow professional network
Maintains a solid relationship with customers in collaboration with Rinchem Business Development Team as Transportation SME. Ensures all expectations are being met or exceed, looks for additional opportunities to create new business solutions
Support Transportation leadership on all CSC budgeting requirements as needed to maintain financial expectations
Works in conjunction with administrative service centers including Human Resources, Accounting, Quality, IT and Sales to fulfill requirements and meet organizational objectives throughout the company
Ensures safety, quality, and other team meetings occur, and serves in committee memberships as needed
Update SOPs and Work Instructions
Back up Asset Manager, and Dispatch Supervisors as needed
Ensures success of Management Trainee program within area of responsibility
Performs general administrative work for the CSC as needed
Maintains 2-in-a-box for all positions that fall under responsibility
Develops people to their highest potential through necessary training and excellent performance management(hiring, scorecards, positive feedback, discipline/coaching, and termination)
Maintains operation quality standards to ensure transportation is in compliance with corporate goals/policies, showcase standards, and compliant with pertinent regulations
Owns value stream to meet customer demands and expectations regardless of functional and department boundaries; leads the creation of current and future state plans and implements the pan to get from current to future state
