Engineer with over 20 years of Manufacturing Experience Implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma and almost 8 years as Department Manager.

My experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and New Products Introduction (NPI) as well as supervision in the Project Development and supervision of general products has given me the opportunity to develop a strong experience over 28 years in the industry in consumer Markets electronics, and the granite, marble, and quartz industry this has given me effective skills development focus for continuous search of challenges, solutions & goals.

       Achievements:

  • Improved the productivity to 28% eliminating unnecessary returns of the machine when changing tools Lean Manufacturing philosophy :(N.V. A)
  • Savings of 62 k with release of space with Lean philosophy standardization: (Unifying tools with program modifications and machine fasteners) and 72% of a universal setup on they change of models" SMED "

        Manufacturing / Projects Engineer

         Achievements:

  • Transfer of 6 lines production from (Albuquerque to Chihuahua) with a 32% improvement in space (Re-Lay-Out), Flow with design sub-Assembly's, Reducing head count eliminated and reducing (move unnecessary, transportation) and Re-balancing (MOST), Increase productivity ( re-balancing operations, calculate Kanban's and IPK )obtained improvement of the 41.6% and layout improvement(eliminated operations with standardization)
  • Increased capacity of lines in an average of 12%: By determining designs Kanban's, IPK (establishing Tack-Times on lines flow, machines, and equipment's.
  • Improvement Yields by a 27%. Eliminated the process NVA (that does not add value to the product).

Obtain CERTIFICATIONS “GREEN BELT” & “LEAN EXPERT” with savings generated in 4 projects “$568k” per year

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible of the transference of Albuquerque plant to Chihuahua (6 production lines) and improved the Productivity, yields, Flow, Efficiency, Flexibility, etc. and the priority: reduction of the space used in these lines (improvement the lay-out) as headcount.
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing to ensure the quality of the product, improving all the processes.
  • Introduce of new models contemplating all requirements of the project, following up the material, samples, tools, fixtures, areas available to design the line, documentation, quality issues, learning curves, certifications, process, head count, training's, rates, ppms, yields, etc. in the same way following up meetings of status, progress, requirements to next step; all to comply with the set schedule.
  • Working with headquarters to build samples, validating all processes, and certificating production lines.
  • Improve all processes with saving projects, to eliminate the N.V.A (not value added), like inspection, touch up “solder”, customer test, etc. these last reduce the life of the product.
  • Apply standardization at all processes, like all production areas where human resources exist, with of tooling, fixtures and all type of tool that can help the process and give flexibility at the lines.

        Manufacturing / Projects Engineer

        Achievements:

  • Improved the conformal process, applying from a section to all the PC board, with immersion system.
  • In an effort to seek to improve the product packaging for 7 models since it was our bottleneck, the packaging (proposal) was redesigned, obtaining approval from the headquarters with an ECN for its application as a result of a reduction in the number of operators, "head count" , Elimination of machines for tape boxes Achieving (increase of flow, line capacity, Space saving "Lay-Out", elimination of enormous space in warehouse of old packaging for new achieving an overall saving of 275 k / year
  • Improving productivity and reduce downtime in changes model by 22%.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible to introduce of new models contemplating all requirements to this product can run satisfactory in time, and all requirements needed of a new product that can be approved Fulfilling: engineering runs of the new product in accordance with the learning curve and delivery, until it reaches the established rates for the production department, so it can continue with the new product.
  • Support at the production lines on all activities required to fulfill all the daily goals, like flow problems of materials with discrepancies, improvement on instruction sheets, improvement of the tool, etc.
  • Design lines for new products, contemplating FLEXIBILITY, design of FIXTURES, CONVEYORS, etc.
  • Design the progressive assembly with one master sample in each station throughout all the product, until we find the time required on each station that can fulfill the required rate (PPM`s, Yields, etc.).
  • Responsible to transformation of cell, lines, or any production area under the Lean Manufacturing terms.
  • Responsible to coordinate daily meetings to re-examine the result of the rate, yield, scrap, Smed, etc. or anything that has an influence with flow, capacity, lay-out, tools, assembly, process out of control and documentation.
  • Design and development of systems (Poke-Yokes) directly in response, solution, and containment to clients in case of any quality defect or complaint.

  Manufacturing Engineer

         Achievements:

  • Introduction and application of the Most "Predetermined times" in each production operation of each line. To the use of re-balancing work area, achieving the correct loading hours to each businessman, getting more business release 37% in the production level.
  • Design and use of POKE-YOKE in the production area to eliminate a high rate of unfortunate errors caused by the same product design, lines and slack in the test areas and final assembly. Creating savings of more than 50 k / year by reducing and almost eliminating the unnecessary rework, refloating, and handling of parts and products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and improve all processes station by station, applying an analysis to find unnecessary movements and value not added.

  • Studies of periods of full life of machines and equipment, implementing routines of preventive maintenance to the machines, tools, and equipment’s.

        Manufacturing Engineer

         Achievements:

  • Design and application of POKE-YOKE templates on the assembly area, to axial components, achieving an increase in the yield of 28% and reduction of line contamination with POKA-YOKE on ACI "Automatic Circuit Insertion" area.
  • Designed POKE-YOKE to SMED system. Introducing color application in rolls for common and uncommon components in the load and unload of the machine, during the model change.

Main responsibilities:

  • Re balance of the lines to improve and implement cost reduction with analysis of predetermined times to find the exact headcount necessary.
  • Design POKE-YOKE systems to reducing scrap and fall-off, to help the line fulfill all metrics and goals.
  • Reviewing and preparing manufacture sheets and visual aids for change in the processes and introduction to new products (new models).
  • Support to reduction time during changes in models to fulfill with the capacity of the line.

     Production Supervisor

     Achievements:

  • Design of self-training system to dominate the workstation as well as the previous and the next-one.
  • Established the auto-evaluation method, purchase the incoming operation self-inspecting it, and selling your own operation after inspecting it.
  • Leader of team of KAIZEN and improvement for lines production.

Main responsibilities:

  • Fulfill white the day production program, administering the human resources and materials, to obtain quality products at a lower cost.
  • Certification and development of new operative personnel, with cross training and scheduling of pilot-controlled runs, during the introduction of new models.
