Job Summary:

Serves as the Senior Accounting Technician with responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of journals subsidiary ledgers schedules and recapitulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains the general ledger and subsidiary accounts reviews supporting documents concerning such items as Goods Received Merchandise Transfers between branches and for departments sales and cash flow etc. Prepares daily flash reports month end quarterly and annual reports.
Prepares journal vouchers to adjust accounts and transfer funds as required.
Analyzes retail accounting data such as gross profits sales open to buy inventory purchases net transfers cost of sales etc reports abnormal trends to supervisor.
Maintains accurate and complete accountability records for inventories in the main and location stores and consolidated book inventory for the activity.
Composes correspondence in reply to letters memoranda and other inquiries. Obtains information from various sources in developing replies and takes action to resolve problems which inquiries represent.
Performs other related duties as assigned

This position is covered by American Federation of Government Employees, Local 3723 Union Agreement

A total of 4 years consisting of the following

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor s degree for 3 years of general experience.
