- Working with other senior traders in the origination, structuring, trading, pricing, and closing of structured financing and credit transactions including:
- Generating business opportunities from both new and existing clients which are not currently active with CPG
- Working with counterparties to negotiate term sheets, pricing, and deal terms
- Preparation of materials for meeting with various investment committees and stakeholders, including coordinating with senior traders in risk underwriting and evaluation
- Working with internal and/or external legal on complex transaction documentation
- Work with senior traders to develop processes for the desk to more accurately monitor positions/risks
- Entrepreneurial mindset to develop new avenues of businsess and drive growth in the book
- Ability to research new asset classes and markets
- BA required, graduate degree in business or a technical field preferred
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in capital markets. Experience working with Rating Agency or within structured products banking or trading teams with experience on mortgage and asset backed products preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of fixed income markets
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including business writing

Role description:
This role will be as an Vice President in the Credit Portfolio Group, a multi-billion dollar long term structured financing & credit business within Nomura's Securitized Products global trading. The candidate filling this role should have extensive experience and/or high interest in structured finance and securitized products. Candidate will be involved in the full life cycle of highly bespoke transactions with large, top bracket hedge funds, banks, private equity and private credit firms, from the early stages of deal formation, including origination and closing, and the on-going portfolio monitoring and risk management of the transactions. Tasks will include working closely with senior members of the team, large institutional clients, rating agencies, legal counsels,Market/Credit Risk teams, and various other stakeholders. The role exposes the candidate to trading and risk underwriting in a wide range of fixed income assets including non-agency RMBS, CLOs, private credit assets, and other alternative assets. Candidate should have the ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment, demonstrating the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks with high attention to details, and move seamlessly across activities. Strong communication skills are required to interact with both internal teams as well as external clients.
