Overview

Esri's global geocoding solutions support key challenges such as locating addresses and places on a map, discovering what's at a known location or adding location information to large tables of records. Bring your passion for Software Development to help us develop a global search and geocoding capability, both of which are cornerstones of Esri software products.

You'll work alongside product engineers, developers, and users to create location-based APIs, geocoding services, and enhancements to Esri software in the mobile, desktop, server, and online environments.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction and managerial support for a team of Software Development Engineers and/or Development Leads
Lead the creation, development, and design of software architectures that meet user requirements and technical concepts
Manage the development of software subsystems and new features in Esri product(s)
Mentor and guide Software Development Engineers as they write new code and merge code into existing code base
Write, review pull requests, and deliver improvements to existing code base
Schedule and coordinate projects across development teams
Ensure software releases meet functionality, time, and quality standards
Research technical options and resolve software implementation errors as they occur
Collaborate with other product teams on shared features or services

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role
Expertise in programming language such as C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at the technical and senior executive level
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
Ability to coordinate people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company
Demonstrated experience in developing and releasing commercial software products
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, GIS, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

Experience developing search and/or geocoding solutions
Experience developing location-based services
Experience with cloud-based architectures and microservices
Experience developing desktop and enterprise solutions
Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, GIS, or related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is

$135,200 - $228,800 USD
