Job Description:
This position is an unclassified position in the Office of Sponsored Programs at LSU. The Grant/Contract Specialist I supports the various pre-award and non-financial post-award activities of sponsored program administration.
Job Responsibilities:
Pre-Award Activities - Proposal Review/Approval: Provide guidance, review, approve, and submit proposals in accordance with applicable University policies and procedures, state and federal statutes and regulations, and sponsor guidelines.
Pre-Award Activities - Award Review/Approval:
Review and approve standard federal and state grants and contracts in accordance with applicable University policies and procedures, state and federal statutes and regulations, and sponsor guidelines.
(15%)Post-Award and Other Activities:
Review and approve standard post-award modifications (no cost extensions, requests for increased funding, rebudgeting, etc.) and prepare standard sub-awards in accordance with applicable University policies and procedures, state and federal statutes and regulations, and sponsor guidelines.
(10%)Other duties as assigned. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience; Demonstrated communication and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct multiple projects simultaneously and to interact with individuals at multiple levels and disciplines; demonstrated computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience; .Proven ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
