    Job Introduction:


    To establish and maintain AIM Systems as a world class injection mold based on achievement of Injection Molding Department KOI's and continuous improvements.

    Supports 2nd shift into 3rd shift.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Ensure all molding machines have key data monitoring in place utilizing MKS system to ensure world class OEE. Monitor molding machine key data and make adjustments as needed to optimize processes and maintain machines. Ensure KOI's and MAFACT scores are achieved in Molding Department.

    Working with Senior Process Engineer and Tooling engineers, ensure all molding processes are optimized and documented for all injection molds.

    Ensure principles of SMED and QMC are followed in the molding department. Establish robust process windows for parts by applying Scientific / Decoupled Molding techniques along with design of experiments (DOEs). Establish a relationship between key process input variables and key process output variables for each component.

    Specify the equipment required in the Molding Department for an application including molding presses, robots, EOAT's, hot runner controllers, water temperature controllers, material loaders, dryers, inspection equipment, etc.

    Define and differentiate various types of molding defects. Teach molding technicians, team leads, quality technicians, and operators how to identify and address defects.

    Utilize Total Preventative Maintenance principals to develop and implement a Preventative Maintenance Program for all manufacturing equipment in the Molding Department.

    Oversee installation of new equipment by contractors for Molding Department Ensure repairs of any manufacturing equipment in the event of failure in the Molding Department.

    Provides technical process support to the organization and mentor molding technicians. Establish documentation requirements for all processes. Create and administer training programs for Process and Mold Setup Technicians as well as existing staff on new equipment. Maintain knowledge of production schedule and ensure technical issues are acknowledged and addressed to support schedule. Act as technical lead responsible for new mold sampling, DOE's, material samples, engineering changes, etc. Exhibit a fair and consistent approach in supervising technicians, which follows the principles outlined in Magna's Employee Charter.

    Perform the requirements of this position in such a way that will maximize the return to the Decoma shareholders, while maintaining ethical business practices.

    Follow company policies and business objectives in the daily management of facility operations. Other duties, as assigned.

    Education / Special Knowledge and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 5 years' experience in plastics engineering or related engineering field.

    Working knowledge and experience with MKS data collection systems, magnetic platens, automatic resin handling systems, in-mold sensor technology, robotic part removal, automated component handling / inspection and QMC processes and equipment.

    Computer skills (Microsoft Office) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
