    Description

    **This is a contracted role until 10/22/24 with the potential to extend based on budgets and headcount. Full benefits are offered during the contract period including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.**

    We are seeking a skilled Senior Technical Writer to join our team in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing abilities, with a focus on creating content for enterprise software tailored to professional and technical audiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate closely with writers and editors to develop high-quality technical content.
    • Research and resolve content issues identified by customers or colleagues, updating relevant topics as necessary.
    • Draft, maintain, and edit content for release notes, release publications, and backlog.
    • Manage multiple deliverables across various product areas concurrently.
    • Prepare content for online delivery, ensuring accessibility and user-friendliness.
    • Learn and test product functionality while crafting documentation.
    • Review technical information and content prepared by team members for clarity, consistency, and quality.
    • Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and develop documentation plans using tools like Jira without direct supervision.
    • Provide minimal editing of content, maintaining high standards of quality.
    • Assist other writers in developing content for publications, adapting to different product areas as needed.
    • Align with team and individual goals, setting an example of quality writing, relationship building, and adherence to processes.
    • Regularly update managers and leads on project status.
    • Utilize appropriate tools, such as Jira, to track work progress.
    • Mentor and guide junior writers to enhance their effectiveness.
    • Attend alignment meetings, contribute insights, and enrich topics with additional detail.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of technical writing experience or equivalent.
    • Preferred experience implementing or working with enterprise software.
    • Strong understanding of the implications across various product areas.
    • Expertise in DITA and XML authoring at an advanced level.
    • Experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills among peers and stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is advantageous.
    • Background in human resources, payroll, finance, or higher education is a plus.
