Position Summary

Translate complex procedural information based on business requirements and standards into user-friendly references such as Policies and Procedures, user manuals, and job aids.

Collaborate with and gather information from internal and external clients to develop easy-to-understand and use documentation. Perform document editing, editing written materials from other writers, document lifecycle management, basic web setup, and document publishing.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$78,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$116,000

&/OR


California Minimum:
$74,000


California Maximum:
$110,000

This job can also include participation in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
This position is hybrid. You will work from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters location is flexible and within the PG&E service territory.


Major Responsibilities Include:

Policy and Procedures Development and Management
Provide operational consulting for document/content development for internal/external clients.
Design, develop, and manage SharePoint sites for Policy and Procedures
Design document management and retention processes and maintain departmental document systems.
Create Policies and Procedures, user manuals, training materials, job aids, and quick reference guides.
Use PG&E GDI (Guidance Document Initiative) standards in developing Policies and Procedures.
Editing documentation for content and compliance.
Project Management
Write task analyses and documentation plans to establish project goals, content, parameters, and deadlines for the new technical document.
Project manages Policy and Procedure, user manuals, training materials, job aids, and quick reference guide development. Tracks deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements in the project plan.
Document Lifecycle
Documentation Reviews-Ensures the technical accuracy, quality, and business compliance.
Produces final documents as defined in the documentation plan and creates and maintains records and systems.
Deliverables
Take complex technical information and make it clear and easy-to-understand for a non-technical audience.
Produces Manuals and Guides, including Administration, Configuration, Installation, Operation, Standards, Guidelines, Procedure, Process, and User.
Develop procedures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in relation to document management.
Develops Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates.

Develop graphics:
flowcharts and organization charts.


Responsibilities:

Full understanding of technical/professional concepts.
Selects from different methods, approaches, and tactics to achieve documentation goals and needs.
Receives little instruction on day-to-day work; Supervisor sets priorities and reviews work as needed.


Qualifications:


Minimum:

BA/BS in English, Technical Writing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Two years of related work experience


Desired:

Experience in content management, process improvement, and project management in developing a wide range of business documentation deliverables.
Proficient in documentation technologies and processes.
Written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and SharePoint.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
