    Director of Benefits

    Position Summary

    We are a growing consulting firm in need of reliable and talented Director of Benefits.

    This role will play a key part in building and implementing companywide plans to support, health, welfare, retirement, paid time off polices and incentive programs, that are competitive and compelling.

    Essential Job Functions
    Evaluate, design, and administer health and welfare, retirement, and leave benefit programs
    Develop and implement comprehensive and effective benefits communication strategies and trainings
    Design, review, and maintain employee-facing benefits information including intranet content, job aids, policies and procedures, and forms to drive benefit education and engagement and improve employee understanding of benefits programs
    Ensure adequate processes, controls, compliance reviews, and audits (including 401(k), Form 5500, etc.) are in place and are completed successfully for company benefit programs and practices and that all plans are in compliance with external regulatory requirements
    Maintain current knowledge of all compliance-related regulations and regulatory changes affecting benefit plans including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, PPACA, COBRA, ADA, HIPAA and Worker's Compensation; keep abreast of industry trends
    Meet with advisors and insurance carriers to discuss rates, coverage limits, and other topics related to health insurance policies
    Review new plans offered by insurance carriers to ensure they meet company specifications and make recommendations to leadership and benefits committee
    Serve as key stakeholder of benefits committee and coordinate regular meetings
    Monitor administrative costs and pricing of benefits programs and recommend containment strategies
    Identify and lead integration benefit integration activities across broader enterprise, coordinating effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
    Oversee all ACA reporting
    Partner with HR team and relevant internal and external stakeholders to resolve employee benefit issues and concerns
    Oversee administration of leaves and accommodation requests in accordance with state and federal law
    Support new hire benefit education, enrollment campaigns and organize employee presentations/events
    Maintain and audit employee benefits information in HRIS Workday system, including enrollments, life events, and benefit changes; effectively trouble-shoot benefits issues and lead resolution
    Lead annual open enrollment process

    Minimum Job Requirements

    Bachelors and/or Master's degree in related field
    10+ years of experience in the field of Employee Benefits, Human Resources, Group Insurance plans, etc.
    Expertise in understanding of and experience in administration of employee benefits and benefit compliance issues - ERISA, reporting requirements, IRS laws and current regulations pertinent to health and welfare plans
    Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships
    Ability to apply the results of sound research to the design, development and implementation of benefits polices, programs and practices
    Outstanding collaboration and customer service skills
    Possession of strong analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills
    Ability to manage multiple process and priorities simultaneously
    Flexibility and willingness to scale from tactical to strategic
    Ability to exercise discretion, judgement, tact and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and strong presentation skills
    Exceptional computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems
