Description
The Development Manager for Distribution develops the strategic direction and executes the software design, development and QA initiative required to deliver products that meet and exceed the goals and vision of the Distribution Leadership.
Development, Architecture, Quality Assurance, cross industry and across multiple product lines.
Reporting to the VP of Research & Development, they are accountable for people, projects, products, and processes. They Interact internally and externally with executive level management and inspire action and deliver against initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPromote Core Values (Crave Greatness, Own the Outcome, Deliver Awesome and Embrace Community)
Work with Product Marketing and Product Management to create the go-forward product strategy for the Distribution businessEnable quality focused, predictable, and effective R&D processes based around agile methodologiesAccountable for all R&D deliverables which includes working with the R&D team to provide estimates, plans, reporting and tracking against metrics/KPIs and working effectively to manage ambiguous tasks and assignments Investigating root cause and implementing corrective action when necessaryWork with the Management to the set and achievement the R&D budget Provide leadership across R&D which includes regular communication, conflict resolution, organization design, meeting management and change management Strong program management execution, with an ability to set targets/milestones and hold teams accountable for end resultsCreating the conditions for people to succeedKnowledge, Skills, Ability, Education & Experience:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science (or related field) preferred Expert knowledge and understanding of multiple R&D sub functions, cross industry and/or cross product lines Strong critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skillsSignificant experience in Software Development Life CycleExperience in cloud/SaaS technologiesExperienced in managing and leading the people and activities of a team, function or department, including through periods of transformational organizational change.
Previous experience of developing department goals and aligning them to organizational objectives and a track record in successfully executing those plans, aligning and holding teams to account for their deliverables.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, develop and sustain collaborative cross-functional working alliances, present and convey clear messages and manage key stakeholders at all levels of an organization including customers.
