    Description

    Starting Hourly: $ $15.00 per hour depending on medical scheduling experience

    Smith Therapy Partners has been the premier provider for outpatient orthopedics serving Las Vegas, Henderson, and surrounding communities for over 20 years. We are known for providing the highest quality care for our patients and our team of highly skilled physical therapists who are honored and delighted to help patients reach their goals.

    Currently, we are looking for a full time Scheduling Specialist for our W. Alta location in Las Vegas.

    Schedule needed: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm


    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Answering incoming new patient queue calls. Scheduling of new patient PT/OT evaluations. Assisting patients with any questions they have regarding insurance, accessability, locations. Sorting every inbound referral and eFax to appropriate subfolder within 24 hours to allow scheduling of every referral appointment withing 23-48 hours.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Analysis of incoming referrals to sort to subfolders for data entry into our EMR for each referral received.
  • Understanding of Insurance benefits and authorizations for obtaining prior to scheduling if required
  • Collaboration, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Technical and Scheduling skills to assist patients with appointment time and date for Initial Evaluation and the 5 following visits.
  • Thorough knowledge of problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership, and process and procedure creation.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize various demands.
  • Strong presentation communication skills.
  • Action oriented and driven for results.
  • A self-starter and to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a well thought-out easily understood manner, both orally and in writing in a variety of settings and styles.
  • Ability to delegate and communicate in an honest, direct, and professional manner, relating well to others to build rapport and effective relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening by asking clarifying questions, identify and share relevant information and solicit feedback from others and give and receives feedback objectively.
  • Ability to practice time management, timely decision making, and conflict management.

    • Education: minimum high school diploma, college a plus but not mandatory if meeting experience requirements

    Experience: at least two years of relevant work experience and the skills necessary for the position

    Language: Bi-lingual preferred

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

    Requires prolonged standing, sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, mouse, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
