- Lead activities for project proposals and assist with budgeting and scheduling.
- Coordinate project tasks and manage a team of design engineers.
- Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural and bridge projects.
- Conduct bridge field condition assessments and create repair recommendations.
- Ensure quality control of all work products.
- Communicate with team members, clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Attend project meetings and public hearings.
- Maintain current knowledge in the field.
- Supervise less experienced personnel.
- Resolve design problems and perform detailed design work.
- Participate in business development and marketing activities.
- Prepare structural reports.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures.
- Michigan Professional Engineer license or eligibility to obtain it within a year.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge or structural engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Experience with structural engineering analysis software.
