- Generate new business, retain existing accounts, and reduce lost business to drive profitable sales growth and meet special objectives within the assigned territory
- Identify and qualify prospects aligned with company account categorization objectives
- Research customer business requirements and offer a tailored mix of products and services to fulfill those needs
- Analyze market trends and propose products to customers based on their business objectives and needs
- Stay updated on market dynamics, product advancements, competitor offerings, prices, and sales trends; share relevant information with customers as part of value-added services
- Address customer queries regarding products, pricing, availability, and product application
- Provide product details and hands-on training to customer staff
- Drive personal vehicle to customer sites, events, company meetings, etc.
- Manage deliveries as per the transportation department's schedule; troubleshoot any issues during the order process (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory)
- Engage in company activities, promotions, customer visits, and events
- Attend general sales and district meetings
- Participate in ongoing training sessions
- Assist in training new hires as requested
- Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data
- Perform administrative tasks like preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits, and pick-up requests, providing sales quotes, menu suggestions, and filing reports
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR HSD/GED with 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales, or equivalent relevant experience
- Bi-Lingual proficiency
- Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no multiple DUIs in the last 2 years)
- Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits
- Pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check)
- Agree to Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the specified territory area
