About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant. With minimal supervision, the Staff Account is responsible for Maintaining the General Ledger, overseeing Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable functions, and applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. IBC has very aggressive growth goals and is looking for people who can contribute to these goals and further themselves professionally. The candidate must be a strong communicator, collaborative, purpose-driven, and a self-starter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employers benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
2. Prepare ledger entries by maintaining files and records and reconciling accounts.
3. Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable subsidiary ledgers, providing full-cross functional support to A/P and A/R functions.
4. Processes Invoices for Vendors and performs accounts payable functions and record keeping within the organization's established policies.
5. Perform expense coding, voucher preparation, match and accurately enter AP invoices into System (QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Edition / SAP Concur) including inventory, freight, expense reports and other types of expenses.
6. Research and obtain necessary supporting documents and approval (3 and 2-Way Match). Follow through on discrepancy issues and approvals.
7. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
8. Produces check runs with necessary back up for approval (semi-monthly) and mail checks after signatures are obtained.
9. Reconcile vendor statements to system payable balances, research, and correct discrepancies.
10. Promptly respond to email and voicemail correspondence.
11. Coordinate with Senior Accountant, Controller, and AP clerk regarding priorities and day-to-day responsibilities.
12. Monitor AR Aging report. Contact customers regarding overdue accounts. Investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
13. Provide purchasing backup support including issuing purchase orders and onboarding vendors.
14. Other duties as assigned including following all safety, AS9100 quality and internal policies and procedures.
Qualifications
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen/Green Card holder. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.
2. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
3. Must have a minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
4. Manufacturing experience in cost accounting preferred.
5. Must have experience using QuickBooks.
6. Must have excellent attention to detail and approach job duties with an analytical approach.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Intermediate Excel skills
8. Proficiency in math, ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English
9. Must have excellent organizational skills.
10. Must have excellent customer service skills.
11. All employment at IBC is conditional upon results from a background check and drug test.
