    Referral Coordinator

    The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in handling all administrative tasks related to patient information and insurance at a group of dialysis clinics. This position requires collaborating closely with both internal and remote team members, showcasing strong time management skills, and effectively carrying out assigned responsibilities under supervision, while making sound judgments.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Processing new patient referrals through the internal Central Registration System (CRS) to ensure accuracy in personal and insurance details.
    - Conducting insurance benefit verifications via phone or online tools to confirm benefits for referred clinic acceptance.
    - Coordinating with clinic staff to secure necessary documentation for patient verifications.
    - Serving as the primary contact for patient benefit inquiries and handling challenging conversations when needed.
    - Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient accounts in the billing system.
    - Resolving billing issues related to patient demographic data in collaboration with patients and payers.
    - Educating patients on financial responsibilities during international travel and preparing related agreements.
    - Initiating authorization requests as per insurance requirements and clinic network status.
    - Generating and maintaining reports specific to the region or clinic.
    - Ensuring compliance with CMS coordination of benefits regulations.
    - Maintaining data confidentiality for patients, employees, and operations.
    - Adapting to changes, multi-tasking effectively, and staying updated on departmental developments.
    - Handling patient information with sensitivity, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
    - Adhering to Medicare, federal, state, and clinic regulations.
    - Undertaking additional tasks and projects as assigned.

    Requirements
    - Bachelor's degree required, with a preference for a focus in business or healthcare management.
    - 0-2 years of relevant administrative experience, or a blend of education and experience will be considered.
    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    - Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
    - Strong customer service, communication, teamwork, and attention to detail skills.
    - Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy levels.
