    Description

    About the Team:

The WatchFree+ Programming and Operations team at VIZIO is looking for a Platform+ Content Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Programming and Content Operations - you will manage the programming, scheduling, curation and promotion of film and TV episodic content on VIZIOs WatchFree+ On Demand platform (AVOD) within VIZIOs SmartCast environment. You will lead the editorial voice, programming quality, and overall success of our AVOD platform by engaging and growing our audience. This role will work closely with the Content Acquisitions team. This is a highly dynamic role within a growing impactful Programming team at VIZIO. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background working with multiple internal stakeholders within the digital entertainment industry. The role will liaise with multiple internal teams to monitor performance and maximize growth of our programming content. This role requires strong organizational skills, outstanding time management, and the ability to regularly balance multiple priorities in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. An understanding of technical operational processes is needed for this role and an appreciation of data metrics to drive success is desirable. The ideal candidate will be truly collaborative, always up for a new challenge, and extremely organized in this highly cross-functional role within VIZIO.
This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles.

    What You Will Do:
    • Developing engaging AVOD programming (carousels, stunts, collections) utilizing all available tools, data, and research for VIZIOs On Demand AVOD platform.
    • Regularly prepare and present meaningful content performance insights that holistically demonstrate the value of content and make substantive recommendations on future content strategies (track, report, and analyze content KPIs and financial metrics). Collaborate and cultivate a deep understanding of the VIZIO viewer utilizing data analytics and audience research.
    • Optimize, manage and maintain tracking of VIZIOs inbound content inventory database across key content verticals and strategic initiatives (content avail submissions, window schedules, etc.).
    • Review content catalogs from major entertainment studios, distribution and production companies, as well as select independent outlets.
    • Own the editorial calendar detailing content-forward opportunities, with both short-term and long-term planning cycles. Coordinate monthly programming and promotional priorities with marketing/editorial teams and plan cross promotional activity to create promotable stunts and vertical themes.
    • Have an experimental mindset, with the goal of using data to support the success of programming strategy.
    • Engage with the larger VIZIO organization, partnering with Content Acquisitions, Finance, Editorial, Marketing, Product and additional internal teams to prioritize key content deliverables.
    • Identify general audience programming gaps and opportunities (including strengths and weaknesses in programming to inform recommendations).
    • Collaborate on best practices and programming strategies with the Programming team as a whole.
    • Perform competitive analysis and trend research to ensure programming and acquisitions strategy are aligned with VIZIOs goals and content initiatives.
    • Ad hoc requests. Pivot to new priorities and adapt to new contexts.
    About You:
    • You have earned a Bachelor's degree.
    • You have 5+ years of relevant digital media/distribution experience (FAST channels/AVOD/OTT) with a recent focus on content programming and strategy.
    • You have direct experience in programming and scheduling with CMS (Content Management Systems), especially for FAST Digital Linear Channels/AVOD/VOD.
    • You have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with data analysis tools a plus.
    • You are a self-starter with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and work effectively against multiple competing deadlines.
    • You have excellent project management skills with proven ability to work effectively with cross functional teams (product, engineering, editorial, research, finance) with an emphasis on strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • You are self-motivated, extremely well organized with an exceptional attention to detail, genuine curiosity, and a can-do positive attitude to contribute to the success of the team.
    • You have knowledge of standard methodologies in metadata creation and copywriting.
    • You have broad knowledge and passion for pop culture, TV, film, and online video (i.e. being a Pop culture nerd).

      • Familiarity with paid media campaigns and digital ad-sales.
