Job Summary:


Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications & Donor Engagement and the Manager of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement Chrysalis' communications and strategies. This team delivers on the organization's communications strategy and brand visibility as well as directly supports the fundraising strategy of the Development & Communications Department.
  • Develop, curate, and schedule engaging, diverse content (images, videos, and written) for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Produce compelling written and visual content, including posts, stories, graphics, and videos, highlighting our mission and initiatives that engages and connects with key audiences. Execute on boosting posts and ad spends on social channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to source and create content that engages and resonates with key constituents. Actively engage with Chrysalis events to produce communications content and/or create real time social media posts.
  • Engage with users, cultivating both leads and community by responding in a timely and authentic manner on social media and other online platforms. Collaborate with influencers, partners, and stakeholders to enhance content visibility and reach.
  • Develop and produce social media to create buzz around events, employing innovative strategies to drive attendance and postevent engagements. Attend marketing outreach events as a representative of Chrysalis and the Development & Communications Department.
  • Produce social media toolkits for campaigns and other organization initiatives.
  • Produce regular metrics reports that evaluate the effectiveness of published content and offer analysis and recommendations to refine strategies. Create quarterly reports that reflect social media outcomes, trends, and google analytics.
  • Stay updated on platform trends, adapting strategies to optimize reach and engagement.
  • Provide general support to the Development & Communications Department as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Required Skills:


  • Commitment to the organizational mission and ethical storytelling.
  • Exceptional writing and visual storytelling skills, with expertise in video editing, graphic design, and tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • 3+ years communications, marketing, digital media experience in an agency or nonprofit.
  • Demonstrated experience and skill working with software/platforms, including: Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress/other CRM, Blackbaud, Hootsuite.
  • Early adopter of emerging technology, with demonstrated participation in social media.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and discretion in establishing and maintaining confidentiality and good working relationships.
  • Professional attitude with ability to work harmoniously with a team.
  • Valid California Driver's license and reliable transportation.
